COVID-19: A LETTER FROM OUR FOUNDER
Over the weekend, when we made the difficult decision to suspend residential services, and transition our boys home, I flashed back to the 2016 Louisiana flood. That August, our community faced an unprecedented crisis. Heritage Ranch took on 4 feet of water and all our buildings became uninhabitable. It was overwhelming, scary, and felt insurmountable UNTIL our friends, families, and community showed up. They showed up with their prayers, their gifts, and their time, and we overcame. As the COVID-19 crisis unfolds, the Lord continues to remind me that He will do it again! He will bring the hope, resources, and peace that we need. And so, with that in mind, our staff is focused on letting go of worry and holding tight to peace. We are focused on providing services to our boys and families, ensuring they continue to make progress in overcoming the crisis that first led them to Heritage Ranch. Our housemom is providing daily tutoring; our Social Work intern giving daily life skills lessons; our Counselor facilitating individual, group, and counseling; our Houseparents leading nightly devotions. We are continuing the mission of Heritage Ranch; establishing generational change by instilling love and identity in family culture. -Vicki Ellis, Executive Director
